Blood clotting disorders like hemophilia result in unstable clots and increased bleeding risks.
Platelet contraction is essential for clot stability but is difficult to isolate and study. Current models use live cells, which are costly, variable, and hard to control. There is a need for a tunable, in vitro system to mimic clot mechanics without relying on live platelets. A synthetic platform would allow researchers to study clot behavior in a consistent and reproducible way.
This approach supports development of safer, more effective therapies for bleeding disorders.
