Our research focuses on the design and evaluation of a novel trileaflet mechanical heart valve (MHV) that addresses limitations in current designs. Existing mechanical trileaflet valves often fail to replicate the natural blood flow dynamics of native valves due to the formation of high-velocity regions between the leaflets. The new design we propose aims to enhance physiological flow by promoting a single, more centralized jet and optimizing the interaction between the leaflets and the valve wall, thereby improving hemodynamic performance.
