Around 35.5 million Americans have kidney disease, at least 557,000 Americans are on dialysis, and 9 in 10 adults with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) don’t know they have it. The Paper Based Microfluidic Devices (μPAD) is an inexpensive and compact Point of Care (POC) diagnostic device, providing CKD patients with opportunities to check and monitor their kidney health at any time. Creatinine: waste product produced from muscle tissue breakdown and when protein is digested → Key Indicator of kidney function and health. Current methods exists but are not equally accessible to all and only provided in hospital of healthcare settings Benefits: easily accessible, simple instructions, able to check and monitor creatinine levels at any time
